Tottenham could be set to miss out on the signature of Giuseppe Rossi after the player’s agent claimed he is nearing a move to Juventus.
According to Goal.com, Juve have already made an offer of around €25 million for the 24-year-old and, although Villareal are holding out for an increased bid, Federico Pastorello suggests things are beginning to progress nicely.
“I believe that this week will be a decisive one between Villarreal and Juventus,” Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia.
“The technical terms have been sorted, and now the economic details of the transfer are being analysed.
“I am optimistic, but transfers at this level can sometimes be a little complicated. The right economic offer which justifies Rossi’s move to Juventus must be made.”
Spurs have been linked with the former Manchester United striker for a number of months, and even made a formal approach to sign him during the January transfer window.
However, Spurs were fruitless in their attempts to prise Rossi away from El Madrigal, although Harry Redknapp retains a genuine interest in the Italy international.
The Spurs boss said last month that he was still hopeful of bringing Rossi to White Hart Lane, but the decision lies with chairman Daniel Levy.
