Premier League Live: 9m striker tipped to become next Liverpool signing reports

Liverpool are considering an approach for Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega, it has been claimed.

According to The People, the Reds have identified the 25-year-old as a potential summer acquisition, and will have to pay £9 million for his services.

Rodallega is said to have caught the eye of Kenny Dalglish in recent seasons and has impressed against Liverpool in the past.

The Liverpool boss is reported to be keen to further bolster his forward line in order to provide healthy competition for Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.

David Ngog and Milan Jovanovic have been tipped to leave Anfield during the transfer window, so the need for forward reinforcements could take on an added importance for Liverpool.

Liverpool have been relatively busy in the market so far, having signed Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Alexander Doni for in excess of £40 million.

Liverpool also missed out on the signings of Ashley Young and Connor Wickham, while more new faces are expected to move to Anfield before the window closes.
