Want-away Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been spotted in Portugal where he is rumoured to be negotiating a move to Sporting Lisbon according to the Daily Star.
The 23-year-old Danish international has long been linked with a move away from north London and could now complete a switch to the Primeira Liga.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger opted to leave Bendtner out of all the club’s pre-season trips, instead ordering him to remain at the Emirates where he could sort out his future.
Following the recent arrival of Gervinho, Bendtner looks to have fallen even further down the Arsenal pecking order, but having said that the Gunners were said to be holding out for £12million for a player deemed surplus to requirements by Wenger.
In reality, they will have to accept something closer to £9million, as Sporting look to tie up a deal for Bendtner in the next few days.
Despite making over 150 appearances for Arsenal since he arrived in 2004, he is set to be unveiled at the Estadio Jose Alvalade before Sporting’s friendly with La Liga side Valencia on Saturday.
