I know the Premier League started in 1992 and since then only Man U, Chelsea, Blackburn and Arsenal have won the league, but what league was the top league in english football before the Premier league started and what teams have won it?

It was known as the English Football League Division One, or just the English First Division. It was the highest professional English Football League for over 100 years.
