Premier League Live: "I have contact from Liverpool" over African striker president

Liverpool have expressed an interest in highly rated Ivorian striker Angban Bekanty Victorien according to the player’s current club president Abi Koffi Richmond.

The 16-year-old teen prodigy, who currently plies his trade for African based Stade d’Abidjan, shot to prominence in the U17 World Cup alongside Coulibaly Souleymane who last week signed for Tottenham.

Reports emanating from Ivory Coast claim that Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has moved quickly to agree a fee to bring the player to Anfield, though personal terms are yet to be discussed.

Speaking to reporters Richmond confirmed that Liverpool were just one of a number of interested parties that have enquired about Victorien’s availability.

“Liverpool has not agreed anything with me yet,” he told skysports.com. “I have nothing written.

“They are a great club and respected club, I do not need to tell them how to do their work.

“I have contact from them through some agents but they are not the only club interested in the boy.”

Another promising Ivorian youngster tipped for a move to the Barclays Premier League is Diarrassouba Drissa, who also featured in Mexico this summer, with his impressive performances set to earn him a trial with Stoke City.
