Premier League Live: Blues and City target to decide future 'in next ten days'

Manchester City and Chelsea target Javier Pastore will be sold within the next week and a half, according to Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.

“Yesterday, I spoke to a big European club and they said they would pay between 45 and 50 million for Pastore,” Zamparini told Italian media.

“At this point, I think we can sort out the situation in 10 days.”

Both Chelsea and Manchester City have been connected to Pastore on a number of occasions over the year, with the midfielder starring for Palermo since he moved to Italy from Argentinian side Huracan in 2009.

While Chelsea were hoping to make Pastore their first big signing under new manager Andre Villas-Boas, City appear likely to outbit their title rivals to the 22-year-old.

But Chelsea shouldn’t be discounted from the race just yet, with Villas-Boas able to offer a side that has come very close to wining both the title and Champions League many years in a row.

While Manchester City are playing in the Champions League next season, they aren’t as established in the competition as Chelsea, and Pastore may decide to move to a club where he is more likely to win trophies immediately.
