Premier League Live: United won't rule out bid for 20m playmaker reports

Sir Alex Ferguson is returning to old targets in the wake of Wesley Sneijder’s transfer to Old Trafford falling through, with the Manchester United manager refusing to rule out a bid for Samir Nasri, according to the Telegraph.

Nasri appears to be unhappy at Arsenal, and the 24-year-old has made his feelings to the club clear by refusing to sign a new contract. Should Arsene Wenger not sell Nasri this summer, the Gunners manager risks letting him leave next year on a free transfer, losing out on up to £20 million.

But while Manchester City are said to be chasing Nasri, United haven’t given up the fight for the Frenchman just yet, and Ferguson is reportedly considering whether a bid of more than £20 million is worth it for the star.

Manchester United chief executive David Gill admitted that a meeting would take place with Ferguson today to discuss the club’s next moves in the transfer window, and the manager is said to be still wanting Nasri to make the move to Old Trafford.

Particularly with Manchester City chasing Nasri, United are reportedly hoping to get a final decision on the situation so they don’t not only regret not getting the young star, but have to face him in tough cross-town rivalry matches.
