Premier League Live: Italian giants admit Liverpool ace 'could be of interest'

Italian giants AC Milan have refused to rule out a move for international midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

The Liverpool playmaker spent last season on loan at Juventus, having enjoying relative success after a quiet first season at Anfield following a £17 million move from Roma in 2009.

Kenny Dalglish has refused to rule the 27-year-old out of his plans on Merseyside, but with Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam joining Steven Gerrard, Lucas and Jay Spearing at Liverpool this summer, the exit door could be open for Aquilani.

After a proposed move to Fiorentina fell into serious doubt over the past fortnight, AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani appears to have stepped-in by revealing the club do have an interest in the player.

“Currently we are not looking for him, but we could speak of it,” Galliani told Italian press.

“He’s a midfielder with the characteristics that we are looking for so, like with other players in his role, he could be of interest.”

The Liverpool manager could look to cash-in on Aquilani, although a loan move to Serie ‘A’ could again be a possibility for the 16-cap Italian.
